Long-Term: As we move into the long term period, a burst of colder air will move into the state as we head towards next weekend. With a developing snow-pack across the plains and dry/clear conditions expected over our area next weekend, the potential of a freeze will be there especially for North Arkansas. Guidance have warmed since yesterday going with upper 30s/low 40s vs Upper 20s/Low 30s. But with Dry air and a Canadian air-mass in place, temperatures are likely to fall to near/slightly below the freezing mark. At this time, no winter weather is expected within the next 16 days but the GFS model was hinting a very weak clipper system that IF there was moisture in place could result in flurries across far north Arkansas but other models including the Euro says no to that solution.
