Before I go onto the next app date, you may be wondering, "what's the purpose of the app?": Well I'll tell you. One of the main purposes of the app is to give you weather information on a localized scale. So while we cover for the entire state, the app would assist us in giving you information on a SINGLE location. That's just one of the purposes, another purpose is to give out dangerous weather information faster. We are trying to program the app to where it will give you an automated warning as soon as a storm becomes warned. We know that sometimes us humans in the AWW weather center can lag behind sometimes, so the app would help us in that regard. That's all I'm going to point out at this point.
Another question I will answer is, "Why pay for the app when there are free apps out there?" The best answer to this question is, we make the app cost (at a low price) so we can upgrade our weather centers we have at home and even upgrade our chasing vehicles. We also plan on upgrading our site and maybe eventually moving to an actual website. We are setting the app at a low price to bring a better experience for y'all.
Now, onto the next date. The next date will be October 14th, this is on a Saturday, and a blog post regarding the in depth look at the nearly complete app will be released. This will be a VERY IMPORTANT post because it will go over what versions (i.e. iOS and Android) the app can support. It will also go over what devices the app will be supported on too.
The final date will be the app release! The app will release on October 31st. Yes, on Halloween! We will also have sales on the app as well, so it will not always cost $3.99 or $5.99 (storm chaser package). We hope you guys really enjoy this app as our one man development team (Cameron Barnes) has put a lot of patience and work into this app.
Thank you guys for reading! ~Michael
Side note: The app WILL have updates, so all the features may take not be in the initial release version of the app.
